Solar Noise

Solar Noise is a series about how the sun, acting as interference within an optical system, rewrites urban reality through flares, overexposure, and “white veils”, turning the documentation of place into the registration of a glitch in its representation.

The project is captured using an extensive archive of modern and vintage lenses (including Canon, Samyang, Vivitar, 7Artisans, Carenar, Helios, Tamron, Tokina, Olympia, Promura, and Danubia). Instead of avoiding direct sunlight, these lenses are intentionally pushed to their optical limits. The resulting artifacts—rainbow arcs, halation, and washed-out contrasts—are authentic in-camera phenomena, emphasizing the physical presence of the photographic medium itself.
